From lead line (beginner) to advanced riders, our lesson program is designed to fit needs of every student. We offer hunter/jumper lessons as well as western and barrel racing instruction providing in a fun and safe environment.
As a student you will learn every aspect of the horse, from proper care and grooming of the horses and tack to riding. Students are required to clean their own horse, tack up horse and take care of the tack before and after the lesson. Instructors will help when needed and make sure everything is safe and done correctly. We want to keep our barn clean and neat, so all students are required to put everything back in it's proper place.
We suggest that students arrive for their lesson 20 minutes ahead of scheduled lesson time, to groom and tack up their horse, so it doesn't take away from their riding time.
Please be sure to have the proper riding equipment....ie: Hard soled shoes with a small heel, tight fitting pants or breeches and an approved riding helmet.
( We do supply helmets, although we do recommend you have your own that will fit you properly.)
We have a tack shop located on the farm that can provide you with anything you need and offer Longwait Farm students a 10% discount.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have to cancel your lesson, please try and give reasonable notice of schedule change. In case of bad weather, please call the barn to see if scheduled lessons are being held that day.
